I love old friends & I love new friends and I especially love friends that no matter how much time has passed, you can pick up right where where you last left. Kemy was in town this week. I think the last time we saw each other was in Cali years ago and we didn't get much time to catch up. But cheers to Kemy's old boss for asking her to come out to NYC to work with him for a week so we could hang out. Last Friday we spent 3+ hours at Serendipity (you MUST try the PB frozen hot chocolate = delicious) just catching up. Our waiters hated us but who cares, there were still tables open & much to be talked about. Then last night Kems got us tickets to Grease. I didn't really know what to expect but I loved it! After the show we were walking through Times Square and as usual we were bombarded with random people trying to get us to go see a show when a guy came up to us, all excited and these choice words came out of his mouth...drunk...midget...wrestling....? what? eeeew! I paused, looked at him and smiled and said as politely as I could, "no thank you." Maybe it was one of those "you had to be there" moments but it was quite perfect. I usually just ignore them but this time was different...too bad there wasn't a camera to capture the moment. It would have been one for the masses. So Kemy, you're getting your very own well deserved blog post. Thanks for the laughs. You are simply fabulous & I'm thankful for the time we had to catch up. I know I promised I'd let you screen any pics I post but we look hot so this one's going up. love you.

{ rincon }

three day weekends for me = getting out of NYC.
 Don't get me wrong, I love the city but it's nice to escape the bubble for a few days.
 This time, I was lucky enough to head to rincon, puerto rico for the weekend.
 I loved everything about rincon.
It reminded me of some of my favorite local spots in hawaii with a little caribbean flavor mixed in.
 The people were beautiful, the colors, bright & it was nice to step out in the sunshine for a bit.

{ conversation hearts }

happy valentines day! I don't know what everyone's problem is with valentines day. It's one of my favorite holidays. Maybe because the crafty side of me loves making valentines every year...and I love seeing guys walk around with bouquets of flowers, always a little bit awkwardly. Unfortunately there are no malls in New York. If there were, I would be there laughing at all the guys in line buying last minute See's Candies. c'mon. valentines day doesn't need to be a big production nor does it have to be single awareness day if you don't have a special someone. To me it's all about the people you love in your life and fortunately for me, there are many. As pablo picasso so eloquently put it, "love is the greatest refreshment in life" ...and that it is. xoxo
