{ nobody listens to turtle }
I've been reminiscing about Hawaii a lot lately. Walking on the busy, stink ridden streets of NYC it's hard to think about my feet digging into the sand at waimea beach or watching the surf at pipeline but once upon a time, I was the girl with blonder hair, tanner skin and nothing but slippers (flip-flops for you mainland folk) on my feet. We threw in one of my favorite flicks the other night, The North Shore, and it brought me back home to the North Shore and to the good 'ol Hawaii days. I think it's time for me to go back for a visit....

{ yankee stripes }
If I had to pick a team, I'd pick the yankees. I have to say, they do have my favorite uniform,
but more important than their classic blue & white stripes, my first Yankees game was the first time I really enjoyed going to a baseball game. I don't know if it was the stadium or the people I was with or the kosher dog but I loved it. I kept trying to get to one last game at Yankees stadium this summer and I didn't think it was going to happen until the lovely miss Em offered tickets and I dropped what I was doing and headed to the game. Not only was it the perfect fall night, we had great seats.
Baseball games are so "heart of america" and I love it.

{ blue flame }
{ the real world }
The divine ms. M took me to a party tonight at the Pop Burger lounge. It was late but I had some time to relax a bit at home before, so as usual, I got my second wind, put on my party shoes and headed out in the rain. There was a good crowd there...great people watching + MTV's Real World brooklyn crew. I remember the days when the Real World seemed so glamorous to me. I think that lasted through the first season. I kinda wish I got more excited seeing celebrity's & such (not that I count the Real World crew as celebrities - but you know what I mean) but I really don't. They're just people. The party was fun but my favorite part of the evening was spent on my beloved streets of New York, chatting with one of my favorite NYC girls, the divine ms Em. There's nothing better than good friends, good conversation and another perfect NYC night.

{ chubby bunny }
Apparently chubby bunny is not just an obnoxious baby shower game. We were chatting at work the other day and I'm not alone in my love of the chubby bunny. 3 days later, I found myself on my roof top with my colleagues stuffing marshmallows in my mouth! It's definitely not my game...I lost at only 4...but it always brings a good laugh. You're never too old for chubby bunny.

{ us open }
I've wanted to go to the US Open since I first moved out here.
This year, I finally made that happen. I think tennis is my sport. It's a good workout and the outfits are cute. :) Enough said. I'll probably never play like Jankovic or Roddick
but I'll try my best and I'm glad I finally got to just sit back and watch them rule on the court.

{ bonfires & beaches }
I miss the beach.
This weekend I got a bit nostalgic for my hawaii days when I went out to Montauk for the weekend. I can't believe I've never been out that way before. I get why everyone in NYC heads out to Long Island for the weekend. Montauk is definitely more my scene...a little less flashy than the ever so popular Hamptons but no less beautiful & perfect for a weekend getaway.
